CreatorHive

Privacy Policy

Hey Social Inc. ("we", "us") operates CreatorHive, a private community for UGC creators, available on the web at community.creatorhiveacademy.com and as an iOS app.

This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it.

Who we are

Hey Social Inc., a Delaware corporation. contact@heysocial.ca

For any question about this policy or your data, email us at that address.

What we collect

Your account details. Your name and email address, which you provide when you accept an invitation. Your password is stored only as a cryptographic hash — we never see it.

Your profile. Anything you choose to add: a photo, a bio, a location, social handles. All of it is optional and visible to other members.

What you post. Posts, comments, direct messages, channel messages, reactions, poll votes, and any photos, videos or documents you attach.

Your progress. Which lessons you've completed, which resources you've opened, your activity points, and your leaderboard standing.

Your business data. If you use the Hub, we store the brand deals you record: brand names, amounts, deliverables, dates, notes, and any contact details you enter for the brand.

Contact details of third parties. The Hub lets you save a name, email address and phone number for a brand contact. These are other people's details, entered by you. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to store them, and you can delete them at any time.

Technical data. Your device type and operating system version, and — if you enable notifications — a push notification token. We record when you were last active so other members can see whether you're online.

How you use CreatorHive. Which days you open CreatorHive, and roughly how many minutes you spend in it each day. A minute counts while the app or site is open and you've used it in the last few minutes. We don't record which screens you visit or what you type, and this never leaves our own systems.

What we do not collect

We do not track you across other apps or websites. There is no advertising network, no analytics SDK, and no third-party tracker in the app or on the site. We do not sell your data. We do not collect your location — the "location" on your profile is a free-text field you fill in yourself.

Why we collect it

To run the community: to show you the feed, deliver your messages, track your course progress, calculate leaderboard standings, and let members find and contact each other.

To keep it safe: to review reports, act on objectionable content, and enforce our terms.

To contact you: password resets, invitations, and notifications you've asked for.

To improve CreatorHive and help members get set up: the owner can see each member's activity and which profile items are complete, so we can reach out if you might need help.

We do not use your data for anything else.

What other members can see

Your name, profile photo, bio, location and social handles are visible to every member. So are your posts, comments, messages in channels you've joined, and your position on the activity leaderboard.

Your income figures are private by default. The income leaderboard is opt-in. If you don't join, your earnings are visible to nobody but you. If you do join, other participating members can see your monthly total. You can leave at any time.

Your Hub is private. Your deals, amounts, notes and contacts are visible only to you.

Your activity is visible only to the owner. The days you were active, your minutes in the app, when you were last active, the number of deals in your Hub (not the deals themselves) and which profile items you've completed are shown to the CreatorHive owner, and to nobody else: not other members, and not the team.

Who we share it with

We use these service providers to run CreatorHive. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

Provider What it handles
Vercel Hosting for the website and app backend
Neon The database
Vercel Blob Photos, videos and documents you upload
Cloudflare Stream Video hosting and playback
Ably Real-time delivery of messages and updates
Resend Transactional email — invitations, password resets
Apple Push notifications to your iPhone

We do not share your data with anyone else, except where we're legally required to, or where it's necessary to protect the safety of our members.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Daily minutes in the app are kept for 12 months, then deleted.

When you delete your account, we immediately and permanently delete your profile, your Hub deals and all contact details in them, your course progress, your activity and minutes in the app, your notification settings, your reactions and your read state. Your email address is released so it can be used again.

Your posts, comments and messages remain, attributed to "Deleted member" rather than to you. We keep them because deleting them would remove other members' conversations and tear holes in shared discussions they took part in.

Your rights

Access and correction. You can see and edit your profile in the app at any time. For anything else, email us.

Deletion. Settings → Account → Delete account, in the app. It's immediate and permanent. You can also email us and we'll do it.

Notifications. Settings → Notifications, or turn them off entirely in iOS Settings.

Income visibility. Settings → Privacy. Opt in or out whenever you like.

If you're in the EU, UK, or a jurisdiction with equivalent law, you also have the right to object to processing, to request a portable copy of your data, and to complain to your data protection authority. Email us and we'll help.

Children

CreatorHive is for adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has an account, email us and we'll remove it.

Security

Passwords are hashed. Data is encrypted in transit. Session tokens are stored in the iOS keychain. Access to the production database is limited to people who need it.

No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a breach affecting your data, we'll tell you.

Where your data is held

Our database and file storage are hosted in the United States. If you're outside the US, your data is transferred there to be processed.

Changes

If we change this policy materially, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
